If you haven’t read The Goon, the critically-acclaimed Eisner Award winning comic series from one of the greatest comedic minds in the comic biz, Eric Powell, you haven’t lived (read more of my gushing here). It truly is one of the most unique, funny and gorgeous books on the shelf. And like anything successful, Hollywood came a knocking, this time in the form of a full-length animated feature. Could that get any better? Yes. The film is being produced by David Fincher, based on a screenplay from Powell himself. And who’s voicing the leads, Goon and Frankie? Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti, respectively and perfectly.
Things seemed to be moving at a crawl for the Goon film, but finally we’ve got our first look at a teaser, and a promise that more is to come this week at SDCC. Take a look at the teaser below, and be forewarned… it is as awesome as you’d hoped it would be:
Stay tuned for more news on The Goon following the panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con!
