These are bad chances. These are not chances that push the medium, the characters, the IP or the mind.

I don’t have the time to tear these all down on an individual basis – I’m a busy guy – but these are the generic and obvious choices movie execs make sitting around a table wondering how they can bleed money from a title before they run out the ticker on their rights to produce. Bad.

Want to be brave and bold? Push artistic merit. Make a full radio play and podcast it. Nothing is more DD than radio. You know, ’cause that fucker can’t see?

Ok bad idea as well, but my point remains. These are ideas that might seem fun but are just bad. Like kissing your aunt with a bit too much tongue after a few drinks at a family reunion.

I agree with a lot of this because I think going the generic, obvious way would be too… boring. Daredevil isn’t given enough credit as a comic book character I think. Maybe he’s too monotone. I don’t know.

Good point, Ryan. Statham and an American accent though might be like oil & water in space. So lets just kibosh the whole thing and get someone to focus on making Spider-Man properly.

I can get behind Statham as Bullseye, on an aesthetic level. I can’t say I’ve heard him do an American accent though? Bullseye wasn’t really Irish, I don’t think. And I kind of hated Colin Ferrell – “moar paynoots plaese”.

I’m also behind Frank Miller though in a consulting role ala Sin City. I have more faith in him when dealing with his own properties.
