I guess we can cross actor Stuat Townsend off the massive ensemble cast list for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Thor film.
Apparently the actor has left the film, which begins shooting tomorrow (talk about cutting it close), due to “creative differences”. Townsed was cast in the role of Fandral, one of “The Warriors Three”.
So where does this leave Fandral the dashing? As quickly as Townsend is out, a replacement has been picked. Stepping in is relatively unknown actor Joshua Dallas, who’s credits include The Descent: Part II and George Lucas’ upcoming Red Tails.
This is no hiccup at all for Thor. Townsend’s an unremarkable actor, and Fandral is a shoestring character anyways. My excitement for the film hasn’t been affected in the least.
Thor’s release date has been bumped up a couple weeks for a May 5, 2011 release date.
