Posted on: January 10th, 2010 Collector’s Edge – Holiday Cool-down
Hey all I am back from the holidays and ready to get back in the collector saddle. What a busy year it was last year and it seems this year will be no different! I got some fun stuff for you all so let’s get right into it.
Can I Be An Alumni?
One of my biggest problems with FanBoy fashion is that the best designs are always ruined by marketing. I picked up this awesome Green Lantern wallet at Hot Topic the other day and on the back side of it it had this gaudy Green Lantern title all over it like I was an idiot who had no idea what the lantern symbol was for. And there are these shirts that just make you want to scream. They would be prefect if they didn’t feel the need to be so…cheap and gaudy. Luckily though, you do find some awesome ass stuff from time to time, like these! This is how you do FanBoy fashion right – you let us express our FanBoy-ness while not treating it like we are ‘special’. These shirts look amazing and you can pick your poison at the same time!
More Power Scotty
I call this smart marketing – an ENTERPRISING idea if you will. A USB Star Trek webcam. Man my mom is going to go crazy for this. Now if they would just make a Death Star one we’d settle the Star Trek/Star Wars debate real quick.
You’re In Trouble AGAIN?!?
I do not care what anyone says, the best Star Wars Board Game ever was Star Wars Epic Duels. Yes, it was very unbalanced but it was fun as all hell to play. (and good luck finding one for cheap these days) Now we get Star Wars Trouble, or as it calls itself – R2D2 is in trouble! I like the clone wars cartoon and all but this just seems a little silly to me. Trouble is NOT one of those games that lends itself to licenses very well, unlike Risk or Monopoly. I will give them this much, they gave it the college try!
What May Come
Kingdom Come is one of my favorite of all comic stories. It just made me like DC for a change. I used to have the Limited Edition silver Superman Statue from that series but it has long since turned to ash after the fire. So I like this depiction as a replacement. Just don’t tell Marvel I have actually got a Superman statue. That’ll be our little secret.
Stone’s Most Wanted
I love Galaxy Quest. I love it from beginning to end. The actors are perfect for their roles, the entire concept of spoofing life as a sci fi star just amuses me to no end. I can somewhat put some model kits together so I will be giving this one a shot! Never give up, never surrender!
Can’t get enough of Stone? Follow his randomness on Twitter or have fun with him on Facebook if you dare. Want even more?!? Check out his site ! If that’s still not enough, stalker applications may be requested through the mail.
