I'm gonna have to disagree completely with you on that one. Obviously the creative team felt they could not justifiably tell the story at its best in one film, so they are taking the time to do it right. If anything, that is something we need to see MORE of when it comes to book-to-film adaptation. Take Dune for example. The Deathly Hallows is a pretty massive book cocking in at around 760 pages. So you pay another $12 to see a well-paced, competent adaptation. Granted the studio will make a mammoth profit no doubt, the concept of splitting a film into two parts is not a decision easily made. I highly, highly doubt the decision was made only to drag the saga longer and make $$$.

If anything more similar properties should be given ample time to tell a story.

I really only have one beef with pn;y pnr film on this list, Harry Potter, I seriosly can't wrap my mind around just how greedy the SOB's are at WB. The Bullshit excuse that there is far too much in the source material to possibly contain into one film is lame. Any writer or director that has adapted a novel has had this problem and yet were able to make a pretty good adaptation. This is just sad attempt to drag the whole Harry Potter saga longer then it should. Harry lives and kills Voldermourt, how hard is it to put into One film??? Honestly. Unfortunetly I will probably still shell out $$$ to see both conclusions.
