Is the Thor casting ever going to end? Apparently not, as we now have another name added to the bill – Kat Dennings.

In a slip-up (?) during an interview with MTV, Natalie Portman (who plays love interest Jane Foster in the flick) spilled the beans that Dennings (40 Year Old Virgin, Norah’s Infinite Playlist) has indeed been cast in the Marvel movie. THR’s Heat Vision soon confirmed this info, with no details as to what character she would be playing.

Of course, everyone runs to their Marvel encyclopedia to look up those Thor villains and heroes that closest resemble Dennings. Already speculation has spurred the mention of characters ‘Amora the Enchantress’ and ‘Hela’. A casting call was dug up from SpoilerTV.com that was posted back in October that fits the bill, however:

[MARCY LEWIS]

(20) Is a college student. Aloof, jaded beyond her years, she thought her internship with scientist Kate Spelling would be an easy 6 college credits. However, she’s been stuck for months in this small New Mexico town and relegated to a wide range of unglamorous activities. Kate has been particularly hard on Marcy, making it her personal project to see that Marcy lives up to her potential. Marcy deals with her situation both by using subtle irony and by being an overt wiseass.

Seems like a closed case, right? Well I thought so too until Kat Dennings herself updated her twitter feed with this:

Hell is gonna be awesome

Now, I know Dennings is one of those hipsters, so maybe this type of tweet is business-as-usual for her, but that screams of reference to the Thor character Hela, the ruler of Hell and Goddess of Death – or perhaps Dennings is just toying with us. That little minx. As always though, she could very well be playing Bobo the Clown – we never know just what could happen.

More on Thor as it develops, which should be every five minutes until May 2011.
