Though closer looking to The Mummy than 300, director Louis Leterrier follows up The Incredible Hulk with a remake of the 1981 fantasy-adventure film Clash of the Titans.
Take a look at the trailer:
Though I won’t disagree that it looks a bit Mummy-ish, I do think Leterrier is a capable director, and I quote enjoy the juxtaposition of mythology and unapologetic action. It certainly looks like it could achieve what it sets out to do more than Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
Also, this might be one of the only times where a hard-rock score was used effectively in a period-piece film. Again, with the comparison to 300, that film did it wonderfully with their trailer featuring Nine Inch Nails.
Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. It opens wide on March 26, 2010.
