Posted on: November 10th, 2009 The Teaser Trailer for ‘Kick-Ass’ Arrives!
Last week we showed you some snazzy new character posters for the upcoming comic book adaptation Kick-Ass and now it seems Lionsgate wants to keep the ball rolling with our first teaser trailer for the film.
While the teaser below is good, apparently it doesn’t hold a candle to the footage that was shown at Comic-Con this year. Also take into consideration that it is a green-band trailer; the film will no doubt be a hard R. I feel as if I’m apologizing for the trailer already, that is most certainly not the case, I’m merely painting a mental picture for what could be in store, which the teaser below may not accurately show. Take a look for yourself.
Ain’t It Cool has posted an early review of the flick in which the source cites the film as “just brilliant”. Here’s another one, equally praising.
I can’t wait to see a full-length red-band trailer for the flick. Until then, check out the film’s official site for updates, and as always, GKS will keep the scoops coming.
Here’s a taste of what we’ll really be in for:

November 10th, 2009 at 9:40 pmI think it was a typo, but I love that you called it a “red-bad” trailer. I think that name should stick form now on. Sounds cooler than red band!
I’m pretty stoked for this movie, even though I have to admit to only having read the first issue of kick ass. I still hear it. John Romita Jr’s art in Kick-Ass is perfect, and I’m glad to see the costumes (for the most part) seem to hold their integrity.
Can’t wait for the trailer, can’t wait for the movie, can’t wait to read more.

And for the record, I normally don’t like JR jr’s work at all, but it works for Kick-Ass.

November 11th, 2009 at 4:05 pmOk, this trailer pushed the exact buttons to turn me around on it. The Freeks and Geeks theme/Joan Jett song, the high school dorks, the period, which to me looks like 70’s/80’s, the self-deprecating humour. And most of all the lack of Brooding Superheros. I’m now excited to see this.
One thing, the main character looks like Jake Gyllenhaal’s (had to look that one up, really, two A’s?) brother or cousin or something. That’ll take getting used to.

November 12th, 2009 at 4:17 amRyan, JR Jr is an acquired taste for sure, but I can’t help but love his unique style. Somewhere between the current art styles and his fathers lines, he doesn’t quite fit in.
I love how he draws Spider-Man, but I understand a lot of people feel it’s too cartoony. To me it feels classic.
