Posted on: October 1st, 2009 First Look at Seth Rogen as The Green Hornet!

Ride with Britt Reid as he races toward another thrilling adventure! The Green Hornet strikes again!
Today we get our first look at Seth Rogen (looking unusually thin) in costume as the Green Hornet in director Michel Gondry’s (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) big-screen adaptation of the radio-show-turned-tv-series. I must say, Rogen looks great with the hat and mask, and I’m getting more and more excited to see this flick.
The film, based on the show that introduced the legendary Bruce Lee to American audiences, boasts an impressive cast of Seth Rogen as Britt Reid/Green Hornet, Jay Chou as Kato, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos and Tom Wilkinson. The film is written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express).
If you’re unfamiliar with The Green Hornet, here’s the official synopsis:
“With his faithful valet Kato, Britt Reid, daring young publisher, matches wits with the Underworld, risking his life so that criminal and racketeers within the law may feel its weight by the sting of the Green Hornet!”
And here’s the pic of Rogen in costume:

What do you think?
The Green Hornet hits theaters December 17, 2010.

October 1st, 2009 at 10:41 pmI’m trying to think if I’ve ever seen Seth Rogen act as anyone but himself…. nope, can’t think of anything. Sure he has the look down, but as soon as I hear that voice and haltish speak, I’m afraid it’s going to break the illusion.
I’m rooting for him but I’ll be floored if he’ll be able to act his way into a convincing character. The protruding jaw already has me doubting it because that’s what he does. He always sticks he damn jaw out!

October 2nd, 2009 at 9:23 amI was going to say the exact same thing; it’s his voice that I’m concerned about. It’s too comedic. Anyway, I don’t know anything about The Green Hornet, but I love Michel Gondry (although I’ve never seen him do a movie like this…) I look forward to judging this.
