It’s trailer madness today, first with Avatar now this, The Wolfman, Universal’s new take on the famous monster.
That trailer actually seemed pretty good; so far I’m digging the blend of practical werewolf effects with CGI – though in a perfect world the digital effects would be kept to a minimum if at all. And you’ve got a pretty stellar cast there with Benecio Del Toro as the Wolfman, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving. Joe Johnson directed, who is also helming the Captain America movie, which should give us a taste of his style.
The film has already reached a bit of notoriety of having a troubled production littered with re-shoots, re-edits and delays. Though the film had a presence at Comic Con 08, it was virtually non-existent this year.
As of now The Wolfman is set to open February 12, 2010.
